When I was a little girl every year I would put two things on my Christmas list: a pony and an English Setter puppy. Unfortunately it would be a decade later before I would get my dream dog. I obtained my first English Setter in 2001 and began showing in conformation with him in 2002. From the moment he walked into my life I knew that this would be a lifetime affair with these amazing spotted dogs. My first love, Chase, would go on to become an American and International champion and earn his Companion Dog, CD title in obedience as well as become my first registered therapy dog.

In 2003 I was introduced to my mentor, the late Diane Michelsen of Gold Rush English Setters, who became my dearest friend and gave me my heart dog, Ch. Gold Rush Phoenix Rising BN, RN, NA, NAJ, OAP, OJP, OFP, THD. She nurtured my love for this breed and taught me so much about their history, grooming, showing, and raising these wonderful dogs to reach their fullest potential. I would go on to show numerous dogs for her throughout the years and co breed my first litter with her and my sister in 2010. This litter produced Lil, Ch. Gold Rush Tri N Stop Me BN RN AX MXJ NF.

Upon her passing in 2019, Diane gifted me with the honor of caring for her remaining dogs. These Gold Rush girls bred and loved by Diane are now my foundation and future in this breed. I have been blessed to have known her and I am grateful for all that she has done for me and Ready Set English Setters.
